When picking a drill there are some things we want to keep in mind. What are you going to be using the drill for? When making volumes you will need to drill holes and to screw stuff in. For the drilling holes job you are going to need a drill driver. They can also be great for screwing things in too, making them the all around tool. A better tool for screwing though would be the impact driver drill. With its hammer action it can drive the screw just a little bit further to ensure it is in tight.

.

To cord or not to cord? Either option is fine when it comes to drilling. You will more than likely have a extension cord available in your work station so it would not be a big deal. Cordless options can be easier in the since that they are more portable. If you don’t have an impact/hammer drill already it is suggested that you get a cordless one. They can be used all for setting and much more.

When it comes to voltage/wattage for drilling you can do with a lower if you are just drilling into wood. The higher outputs may be more idea if you plan on using the drill a lot because the lower output drills can be overloaded in time. The overload can wear the bearings.

For Impact drivers go with a 18v cordless so you can use it for setting too.

To Wrap things up you should get a drill driver to drill your holes and make sure it has a key-less chuck for easy bit changing. You can do a corded or cordless, both will work fine. For screws an 18 volt cordless impact driver drill is idea (you can also use it for setting).
